Get your caffeine ready!

Get out of your comfy chair. Get a cup of your favorite coffee or energy drink. You're going to need it.

Let me introduce you to the least exciting committee in our league. Great people. Love them all...but wow.

You've met the board. You've met the marketing stooges. Now meet the Finance Committee in all its glory. There are three number crunchers in this group.

First, meet Kris DePierro, a manager for TMF-Group (a hedge fund). Also known as an accountant, a pharmacy benefit manager and a controller. Kris joined the league as a member of Street Force back in early 2018. He now also plays for the Lock Monsters in A Division. In his own words, Kris "can match up with anyone and keep them off the scoreboard." Besides supplying bulletin board material, he has captained an Annual Winter Classic Tournament team in Charlotte, and won the last 3v3 tournament in Greensboro.

His wife of five years, after twelve years of stalling her, found the league on Reddit. A discovery she regrets to this day, saying "why do you play so much, you're never going to be professional." Kris also has a three and a half year old son and a baby girl due in March 2022.

Kris grew up in Long Island, and became an Islanders fan because they were closest to Suffolk County. He enjoys chess, poker, strategy games and drinking beer after his hockey games.

Next, let's meet Bharat Modi, who you may remember is also the treasurer on the Board of Directors for the league. Bharat is in investment research for Eton Advisors. He previously worked for SAS on a software development team during high school and college. He attended UNC-CH for an undergrad degree in math and economics, then earning a master in accounting. He hopes to attain a pHD in math and economics eventually. He was born in Raleigh, and is the middle child of a family who has attended his games often.

Bharat played in C Division several seasons starting in 2017. He now plays for the Evil Empire in A Division and captains the Predators in B. He played for an RSHL team in the Pittsburgh Tournament in 2021.

Bharat played soccer growing up and continues to do so, although less frequently. He is passionate about chess, and also plays strategy games as a hobby.

The one bright spot for this group is Alice Gilliland. Alice works for People's Bank helping consumers reach their financial dreams through mortgages, loans and deposits. She's been a banker for 24 years, prior to which she was a fundraiser for colleges and organizations for sixteen years. She has been one of the top producers for each of her banks for most of her career. She won the top American Heart Association award for dealing with high dollar donations from the wealthiest doctors and corporate leaders in the Virginia Beach area.

She began watching her husband Stan play at the RecZone back in 2003. Robert Doring, an RSHL old-timer, often called her the league's only fan, braving extreme weather and stray lacrosse balls to watch the games. In 2006, she started as the first official scorekeeper. Prior to this, referees ran the clock. Since then, she has recruited several other scorekeepers and is still looking for more if anyone is interested.

Alice was born in Titusville, Florida while her dad worked for the Apollo Missions. (She's old.) She grew up in Cary, and after working in Virginia for quite a while, returned to Cary where she gained the world's best husband, three kids and three wonderful grandkids.
